Navigating the change: Taking a closer look at the role of spatial information and analysis in supporting improved agricultural research and development
This year's CSI annual meeting is being organized as "The Africa Agriculture GIS Week (AAGW) 2010", jointly organized by the Consortium for Spatial Information (CSI) of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and the Agricultural Geospatial Commons (AGCommons) Program.
Building on the success of last year's meeting, the scope of the event has been broadened to become a "GIS ShareFair", a market place including, exhibitors, training sessions, thematic workshops in addition to presentation sessions and the third edition of Barcamp Nairobi + WhereCampAfrica.
Main objectives:
- Share experiences in using GIS for agricultural development
- Encourage sharing and learning from each others' good practices
- Provide staff from different organizations with the opportunity to create networks for future collaboration
- Provide an environment to develop ideas on new initiatives
- Present the AGCommons service bureau
